Karma

This weekend was filled with house cleaning. I had been going room by room with garbage bags getting rid of clutter. I cannot stand piles of stuff lying around. Either use it or put it away!! It drives me nuts. Well, both of my boys share a room, so I really didn't want to tackle THAT project. However, 3 garbage bags and a box later, it's finally clean. While stripping the top bunk bed so I can wash the sheets, I found 3 charms. I specifically told my son not to bring money to school to buy these. Well, when I saw that he did it anyway, and then lied to me about it, I flipped out. I was so ready to take them to Nebraska and leave them at a hospital and come home. And I told them so. Well, it turns out that those charms were a Christmas gift for my husband and me. Great, now I have guilt!! My 9 year old son was sobbing that he wanted to kill himself, that he wanted to be alone and that we ruined his Christmas surprise. (I wonder where all that drama comes from?) Nothing makes a mom feel more guilty than knowing it's all her fault. Did I mention that I am also sick with a bad headcold? It figures.

Be still my beating Heart

Yeah!!! Kenny Chesney won CMA's Entertainer of the Year award! Don't you just love his voice? Not too bad on the eyes either!! I told my husband a long time ago that if KC ever showed up at our front door, I was outta here! So far, my husband is feeling pretty secure. In the meantime, I'm just going to have to settle for the 6' cutout of him that I'm getting (once the store is finished with it)! *sigh*

I am sooo

exhausted! I had a really good time this past weekend at Wrapper's Delight. I took some classes, won some prizes, finished a book, played some games and visited with friends. It was especially nice to see Elizabeth, who moved out of town 6 months ago. It went by way too fast. We drove home very late Saturday night and I didn't get into bed until 3am! I am too old for that. My youngest woke me up at 8:30, and for some reason I had all this energy and spent the day doing laundry and cleaning the house. I even cleaned the floorboards! Well, it was too good to last. I crashed this afternoon and slept like a baby. (Below is a mini slideshow of WD.)

I also started a diet yesterday. So far, so good. I really, really, really wanted to join Boot Camp again, but cannot justify spending that kind of money right before the holidays. So out I went last night, into the cold air, and ran for just under 2 miles. Surprisingly I didn't collapse! The air felt great and I could smell the fireplaces going. I love fall!! I think I'll head out again in a few minutes. Have a good night.

Cutest little turkey

Well I thought I'd try and start a second blog to show craft things that I've been working on. As it turns out, I can hardly keep up with one blog, let alone another. So I decided to just combine them. Since I haven't posted anything on my other blog, this is pretty easy!! Anyhow, this past weekend I went to a Stampin Up! workshop and made this cute little turkey! I'm thinking of making a few more and using them as place cards this Thanksgiving. Isn't he cute!!

Last month we made little Halloween treat boxes and toppers for pixie sticks. I love them! So cute.

The problem with making really cute stuff is that I never want to give it away or use it! I can't wait to see what we are going to do next month. In the meantime, I am getting really excited about Wrapper's Delight!! It's in just 3 days, but I get to leave in 2! (Hee hee! So excited.) I have been having these nightmares that I get there and while I have all of my scrapbook stuff, I have forgotten clean clothes! At least I bring the essentials, right? I found out that another girl from B'ham is joining us. I'm looking forward to that because I haven't seen her since she moved. It will be great to catch up. Hopefully I will have some of my own creations to show you when I get back. Have a great day.

Get out and VOTE!!

This morning I voted. I heard that the polls were opening up at 6:30 this morning, so I got up early and headed out. I took my 3 oldest kids with me so they could see how it works. At first they were really excited, but then when they realized they had to stand in line and wait, it got old fast! (Apparently the doors open at 6:30, but you can't vote until 7am.) I brought my kids to the booth with me and when I inserted my card, the ballot popped up. I showed them what it looked like and all of them tried to push the button for who they wanted! Each of them wanted to know who I was voting for. I don't tell that to anyone. That's the great thing about a secret ballot. It's SECRET!! I don't even tell my husband who I vote for. Anyhow, in line my youngest was trying to get me to tell him. He was asking me if the candidate I wanted was white or black! Kids can be so funny sometimes. Well, get out and do your civic duty ~ VOTE!!
