Slinking in the back
I'm just going to pretend that I've been blogging all along and haven't been gone for several months - AGAIN! So, where were we? Well, since I last decided to drop by, we've been busy with baseball season, drum lessons, Sunday school, regular school, the first half of summer, and much more. Let's take one at a time though, right? Baseball lasted for what seemed like an eternity. Probably because after the regular season, Aidan was drafted into the All Stars! He was so excited to go. During the regular season he played very well, and was one of the 2 main pitchers. Each season he plays a couple new positions. I used to think that it's got to be hard to change like that, but the coaches have faith in him, so I just sit back and watch. At least most of the time. However, this season, when he threw a pitch in the first inning, the kid who was up to bat hit a line drive RIGHT INTO AIDAN'S JAW!! Yeah. I was on the field in under 3 seconds. He didn't cry at all, even though he was in some serious pain. His jaw was all swollen, and while his mouth was full of blood, he didn't lose any teeth. The coach on the other team was really nice and kept coming over to check on Aidan. He ended up finishing out the inning as pitcher, and was so mad after getting hit, that he struck out every batter after that! Once the inning was over and all his teammates were in the dugout, he was like a hero! All the boys wanted to touch his jaw. And though I did go into the dugout with my camera, he was in no mood for a photo. So I left him alone. We ended up leaving the game after the 2nd inning to go to the hospital for Xrays. Thankfully, nothing was broken or out of place at all, just badly bruised.
